Addu Marathon 2019 ends with success.

The third edition of Addu Marathon has successfully concluded in Addu. The event kicked off Thursday afternoon at 4:30 with the first ever 100K Ultra marathon in Maldives followed by full marathon, half marathon and 10k for the sunrise on 6th December 2019, with 5k held on 6th December at sunset, while the kid’s events held on 7th December 2019 for sunset.

5 runners participated in the 100k ultra marathon and Lal Bahadur from India finished first in 10 Hrs 54 seconds followed by local running athlete Athif ( Thippe ) in second place. British ambassador to the Maldives Ms.Carol Rohsla on her first visit to Addu, participated in the 10k run. Umar Saleem (Otho) a victim of a tragic road accident also participated in the events to help raise awareness about road safety and speeding.

Addu Marathon is an annual running festival which holds running events enjoyable for people of all ages and ability. The route is a flat course which offers breathtaking views of the turquoise blue lagoons, white sandy beaches, tropical palm trees, topped off with a refreshing sea breeze. The location also offers some of the best sunsets in the world. This running festival is a celebration of joy and friendship; a celebration of love and unity; a celebration of life. Addu Marathon is open for international runners who wish to have the incredible experience of running in the beautiful Maldives.

Addu Marathon is the fourth and final race in the series Travel: Marathons of Maldives organized by irunners.
