Shanghai, China – May 2025 — Addu has made a vibrant entry onto the global tourism stage with its proud participation in ITB China 2025, one of Asia’s premier travel trade shows. An 8-member delegation, led by the Addu City Council, is representing the southernmost atoll of the Maldives at this prestigious event in Shanghai — highlighting Addu’s unique charm, rich cultural heritage, and growing appeal as an emerging tourism destination.
The delegation, comprising city councilors, tourism stakeholders, and a media team, is actively engaging with international travel professionals, tour operators, and industry leaders. Their goal is to position Addu as a distinctive and authentic alternative to the Maldives’ more traditional tourist hotspots.
